Meet the incredible team that brought this moody fall wedding at Hazelton Manor together. 10/10 recommend every single one of them!
Some weddings just hit differently, and this one was it. Alex and Chris are the kind of couple you dream about working with—super down-to-earth, totally in love, and just overall good vibes.
Alex and I were on the same page from day one when it came to her wedding vision. She wanted that romantic, moody fall vibe with rich tones like burgundy, burnt orange, black, and peach—basically autumn perfection. And Chris? Chris is actually the GOAT. He was the kind of groom who showed up to every floral call and genuinely cared (we love to see it!).
Let’s talk florals because, well, that’s probably what you’re here for.
You can never have too many details. Pro-tip, if you’re not doing a stand alone boudoir shoot, have your photographer take a couple spicy pics before you get into your dress. More for yourself in 30 years then for your husband, let’s be real. Laura May captured their details so beautifully!
I absolutely love to see more couple choosing to do their wedding party photos, first look, and even private vows at photography studios. No worries about weather and there are so many in the GTA to choose from that you’ll have no problem finding one to match your vibe. OBJX Studio in the Junction was perfect for Alex + Chris and Laura May captured some of my favourite wedding party photos I’ve seen all year.
Then they headed over to Hazelton Manor in Vaughan for the ceremony and reception, where all the details came together perfectly. The ceremony space and aisle were pretty tight so we did simple bows on each aisle chair that led up to their fireplace alter and an installation on the mantle that perfectly framed Alex as she stood up there with Chris in her incredible dress. After the ceremony we repurposed this installation for their sweetheart table backdrop. Something I recommend 9 times out of 10.
Alex + Chris had a big wedding. It could have easily been in the tens of thousands for florals but because everything was so intentional it didn’t feel like we skimped out at all. We kept it clean and minimal for the guest tables but went bold with unique, high-impact designs. The high contrast, black and white linens helped to anchor the room but the main focus was on the couple.
Alex and Chris brought so much personality to their day. Some of my faves had to be the breaking of the bread, live fresh mozzarella station, all of the little details and personal touches, and their wedding party who clearly came to party!
Having worked on both their wedding and their shower, this one felt personal. It honestly felt like designing for friends, which is the best kind of energy to bring to a wedding day. I’m ready and waiting for the vow renewal (or baby shower).
What I loved most about this day is that it proves you don’t need to go over the top for a wedding to feel grand. Good food, good music, good vibes, thoughtful florals, and a couple who’s madly in love? That’s the real magic. Alex and Chris lit up the room and made it all feel effortless – we just accessorized.
Alex and Chris, thank you for trusting me with your vision and for just being pretty much the best ever. Your day was everything.
If you’re looking to have a moody fall wedding at Hazelton Manor you know who to call!
